The Principles of Letting Go (remastered)
Before the time you had to let go, there was the time you held it. Before you held it, you had nothing before.
If you had nothing at the very start, is there harm to return back to nothing?
~
Here is a analogy:
You lived under the night sky, where the fields shone under moonlight and starlight. Simple and soothing. And then you lived under that same sky with a torch: a flame warm and comfy. If you lose the torch, is it harm to return back to the simplicity of the night sky? With it turn out so bad that the moon and stars would too, disappear? If letting go means to revert to such a 'normal' time,
there is no harm.
~
But, there
is harm. It is the harm caused by confusion and contradiction of yourself.
What do we all let go off? Often, we let go of an object previously held so dearly to us. And the object had to leave and that is unfortunate.
It hurts, doesn't it? To have that object leave you, and nothing you could possibly say or think or do can get it back.
You truly
let go because it hurts. It is obvious, why hold on to something that hurts? You may say that the object is your happiness and love, but regardless, it still hurt you in the end.
Why do you still try to hold on? Because you believe you can fight for that happiness and love back? You're already hurt and you want to get hurt more by fighting?
That, my friend, is a contradiction.
The truth, you must realize, is that you have forgotten you are fighting for
something that has left you already. Therefore, you are holding to nothing at all.
You have to let go because it hurts.
You have to left go because you can't fight for it,
because you are holding on to nothing; something that had already left.
And it hurts so much fighting.
Fighting for nothing you are holding on to.
